Nature of this website

This is a privately published guide to applying for citizenship of the Republic of Vanuatu and the passport that follows it. It describes eligibility, documentation, cost and sequence, and it does so as a matter of public interest rather than as an official publication of anybody.

No governmental status or connection

Nothing here originates from or is endorsed by the Government of Vanuatu. This site is not the Citizenship Office, not the Citizenship Commission, not the Financial Intelligence Unit and not the Department of Immigration; it has no authority delegated from any of them and does not act on behalf of any of them. Those bodies appear on these pages because describing an application without naming them would be impossible.

Not advice

Reading a general description of a programme is not the same as receiving advice about your own position, and the distinction is not a formality. Nationality, residence, family composition and the history of your assets each change what applies to you. Nothing on this site creates a professional relationship, and no page here substitutes for a qualified adviser who has seen your file.

Outcomes cannot be promised

The decision to grant citizenship rests with the Vanuatu Citizenship Commission and with nobody else. No website, agent or adviser is in a position to guarantee approval, to commit to a completion date, or to secure the return of a fee once the corresponding work has begun — the due diligence fee in particular is not refunded where the check is failed. Any period mentioned on this site reflects what the market reports, not an undertaking by any authority.

Currency of information

Fees, eligibility rules and visa arrangements are revised by the bodies that set them, sometimes without advance notice. Everything stated here was checked against official sources on the date shown with the page, and may have been overtaken since. Before acting on any figure or rule, confirm it with the authority concerned or with your own adviser.

Travel access in particular

Statements about where this passport is accepted describe the position as published at the time of writing, and entry rules belong to each destination rather than to Vanuatu. Two changes are worth repeating because so much older material ignores them: the European Union suspended visa-free access in February 2023 and the United Kingdom made Vanuatu a visa national country in July 2023. Verify entry conditions with the destination's own immigration service before committing to travel.

Dependence on third parties

An application is largely a matter of documents issued by others — police forces, civil registries, notaries, translators and apostille authorities — each operating to its own requirements and timetable. Changes at any of them affect what an application needs and how long it takes, and no adviser controls them.
